Have you ever yearned to go back to grade school and write "Eat My Shorts" all over the black board?

The Kennedy School in Portland, Ore. is a hotel that was converted from an old elementary school.

Originally opened in 1915,in the Northeast Portland neighborhood, the school now has 35 guestrooms fashioned from former classrooms that are complete with original chalkboards and cloakrooms, private baths, telephones and Internet access.

The hotel also has a restaurant, multiple bars, where live music plays a few times a week, a soaking pool, and even a working brewery.

Even cooler, the hotel has $3 movies in the gym.

What a great place. I make a point of taking out-of-towners to Kennedy School for dinner and drinks. Perhaps I'll start recommending they stay there as well.
