Don't Give up on Niagara
Yes, we now know there are some bad options in Niagara Falls (cough*Embassy Suites we are lookin' your way*cough), but don't cancel your wooden barrel rental just yet.
And why would you spend another hot muggy day by the pool, when you can head for Niagara Falls?
Guaranteed to make you cool again, the Falls are one of North America's greatest natural wonders.
And it seems to be the only thing Canada and America actually share, aside from hockey players and comedians.
Stay at the The Americana Resort, Spa and Water Park which is about 10 minutes from the falls and has a kickass indoor water park (you cannot escape water here.)
Obviously the resort is very family-oriented and offers Kiddie Suites with two queen beds and a cubby with bunk beds. The suites go for about $130 to $245.
Family suites have separate bedrooms and cost from $205-$410.
If you want to stay even closer to the Falls, check into the Sheraton Fallsview where upper-floor suites feature wall-to-wall window that "seem to hover over the cascade."
Regular rooms go for $122 to $335 (depending on if you want a view or not) and family suites with two bedrooms and a view start at $235.
