Veranda House: Nantucket Cool

The thing about all these quaint inns in Nantucket is the usual decorative style kinda looks like Grandma's house. Not that decoration is the be all and end all of a hotel stay, however, every once in a while we like to get that up-to-date feel in the morning, ya know? You get that feeling at the Veranda House in Nantucket.
Located on "Inn Row", right next to town, and close enough to the beaches, this 20 room inn offers minimalistic, modern looking decor, without compromising on the traditional inn qualities of three outdoor verandas and a killer view.
Some guests think that the modern decor takes away from the quaintness and friendliness of the place, while one guest liked the rooms, but not the ominous "no food in the room" agreement they made you sign:
The rooms are nicely decorated, the location is excellent, and the staff is friendly. However, this inn does not give a welcoming feeling. I also didn't like the agreement that must be signed (and who's ever heard of a hotel that does not allow ANY food or drink in the rooms!?), and the breakfast was OK - the best thing was the Portuguese toast.
We agree, drop the weird "no food" clause Veranda House.
If you are looking for a modern twist on the B&B theme, and don't mind signing a strange "no food" clauses at check-in, you should definitely give this place a close look. Oh, and if you hear that the Veranda changed the "no food" policy, give us a shout.
