Summer Is Tahiti Time
Since hotel deals have gone out the window it's time to indulge and head for Tahiti.
The New York Post has spotlighted Tahiti in its weekly Travel Section.
The glorious island is part of the French Polynesian islands, and is most famous for "its beautiful beaches and relaxed locals."
On the private island of Tautau which is a 45-minute boat ride and a half-hour plane flight from where your plane will likely drop you off, stands the Le Taha'a Private Island & Spa.
Consisting entirely of bungalows that stand over-water and offer up to 1,000 square feet of personal space, this place is not cheap. Prices start at $912.
If you must be cheap, head for the Taaroa Lodge where rustic bungalows run about $106 a night and the "dorm rooms" go for $26 a night. And you're right on the beach.
