A Green Hotel In Vancouver, Washington

Despite the fact that this latest addition to the Hilton Hotel dynasty only offers watercolor renditions and blueprint teasers on its website does nothing to discredit it from being the FIRST US hotel to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the United States Green Building Council
The Hilton Vancouver Washington was scheduled to open last Wednesday and set to receive its certification sometime afterward. Perhaps the lack of photos may signal delay. Nevertheless, the hotel boasts an impressive lineup of eco-friendly amenities that will certainly make the Seattlites very happy:
*Hotel was built with recycled steel and brick
*All 226 hotel rooms have operable windows and Carbon dioxide sensors
*The hotel runs on 30% less energy than building codes declare
*Limited parking spaces so employees are encourage (ok, sort of forced) to take mass transit to work - but there are plug-ins provided for Electric cars

Something tells us this nod to environmentalism wasn't as much of a publicity concern as boosting mama Hilton's new reality show. The certification isn't even on the website! Hello? Hiltons - the environment will gain you more respect that teaching people how to eat Lobster on television.
