[Hotel Maven fsaym checks in on the Setai down in South Beach. Sounds like the things aren't improving--at least not yet. Read fsaym's account of a recent stay below:]

Simply said, if one spends $1000 a night, one would expect an amazing hotel experience.

In March I had the misfortune of staying at The Setai in South Beach Miami. To state everything that went wrong and every frustration I experienced would be too lengthy. In short, I never had clean towels or a wake up call done properly. The coffee maker in my room was always broken, as was the drain in my tub. Making long distance phone calls was an impossible feat, as I tried an average of 10 times before having any success.

Furthermore, I was given incorrect information from the hotel staff who were often rude and lacked social graces. After speaking with the manager about the problems at the hotel, he invited me to leave and even then, as they were pulling my car around, they managed to inform me that they had lost my car keys.

The Setai was anything but a luxury hotel and I would advise anyone to stay elsewhere!
