If you're a dog person, and many of you are, then you appreciate a hotel who treats your dog, just like you, as the guest.

The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia is just that hotel. A historic southern hotel- it opened in 1895 - is complete with a grand center staircase said to be the model for the famous one in Gone with the Wind.

Back to the dogs...upon arrival the front desk at The Jefferson offers you and your pup a tin of gourmet doggie "cookies" and immediately inquires whether a doggie bed will be needed. Woof! That makes a happy dog-owner.

And it isn't all about the dogs. If you don't like the doggie "cookies" try the brunch. Here is what one recent guest said about the Brunch Package:

The service is wonderful, the building is beautiful and the food is great. If you're looking for a nice package stay, go for the Sunday Brunch package. You get a Saturday night stay and go to Sunday brunch as part of the price. As a nice extra, tips are included in the package price, so you just give the waiter your voucher and everything is set. And brunch? It is one of the best meals you can get in Richmond.
