Dubai is quickly becoming a hotel destination to be reckoned with.  First there was the Burj, then there was the anticipation of Hydropolois, and now, the announcement of the Verasace Resort.

Palazzo Versace, currently located on Australia's Gold Coast, will build a mega resort in Dubai starting next year, and hoping to open by 2008.

The hotel's aesthetics and design will be made to include "all of the trademarks of Versace style and glamour, while incorporating the needs of the environment," says Dr Santo Versace, president of the Versace Group.

The hotelier's also took a swipe at the oldness of Europe, and the staleness of America, saying:

Europe is getting older and older and America has remained the same over the years, but this place combines the latest technological advancements with a culture that is thousands of years old. No other place [Dubai] can offer you something like this.

The coolest feature?  The temperature of the sand on the beach will remain at a constant, despite the heat of the scorching summer sun.
