If you ever want to check out the Chelsea Hotel on West 23rd Street in NYC, watch out for some children and vermin.

Sally Singer, the fashion news editor at Vogue magazine, and her husband, Joseph O'Neill, an Irish novelist and lawyer, live in an eighth-floor suite with their three sons at the hotel.

The couple recently moved back to the hotel, after a new big house in Brooklyn wasn't working out (it is an outer borough after all.) They had initially lived in the hotel when their first son was born but after the next two popped out, they moved back into the hotel in a three-room suite for $5,000 a month.

They often order in from El Quijote, the hotel's Spanish restaurant and for "[t]he O'Neill boys, ages 2 to 5, the hotel is a funky version of Eloise's Plaza. They race their tricycles down the hallway past cross-dressers and aging rockers."

But the hotel is not a perfect piece of property. Indeed its a "famously seedy landmark inhabited by poets, painters and punks."

"'Some people leave because of the mice, some people leave because of the roaches, and some people leave because of the people in the elevator,' Mr. O'Neill said."

Ooohh. Chelsea Hotel has Vermin!
