Wrath Of Regis Update

April 6, 2005 at 11:26 AM | by markj | 0 Comments

A couple weeks back we did a story on resorts where your hotel bill comes with tips built in. We asked all of you for some tips on resorts that charge for gratuities up front.

Here is what we have so far:

The Enchantment in Sedona, AZ.
Boca Raton Resort & Spa
The Bishop's Lodge in Santa Fe
The Boulders Resort and Golden Door Spa Arizona

Oh, and this little tid bit from a former upscale hotel worker:

Upscale hotels and resorts frequently charge resort or amenity fees that purport to include tips to bell staff, housekeepers and other line employees, as well as poolside towel service, fitness center access and other amenities that your average Holiday Inn Express provides at no additional charge. My former employer, The Bishop's Lodge in Santa Fe, charges $12.50 per guest.

However. Ask the maids and bell staff at the Boca Raton Resort & Spa if they ever actually see the buck or two per guest that they're supposed to be tipped out from the fees....

Is there a resort we should add to this list? Let us know.
