Planning a jaunt to Rome this week? If so, be prepared to stand in line for upwards of 7hrs if you are hoping to get a view of Pope John Paul II before Friday's funeral. Of course, to us, the real question is always, where should you stay?

Well, we told you we would give you our Vatican hotel pick, so here it is...Hotel Bramante.

Only 320 feet from St. Peter's Baillica, Hotel Bramante served as the home of Pope Sixtus V's chief architect back in the sixteenth century.

All the bedrooms are recently restored, and many rooms come with beamed ceilings.

Furthermore, the Bramante will take you to and from the airport in your very own popemobile (a limo), and best of all, the hotel serves eggs for breakfast.

As one recent guest quipped:

The [Hotel Bramante is the] ONLY hotel breakfast in our entire trip to Italy that served eggs, a real treat!

If you don't like our pick, Venere.com has a cool map (image above) with plenty of Vatican hotel choices.
