We know that 70 Park Ave is targeting dog-owning yoga enthusiasts, but according to the New York Times, the rooms are not big enough to stretch out and practice some of their favorite yoga poses:

Small, even by New York standards. It's hard to imagine anyone performing the Warrior II in the sliver of space offered between the wall and the bed in a typical room. Even the deluxe rooms - while comfy and well furnished - feel a bit cramped. It might be worth ponying up the extra money for a king premier room if you want to do any stretching. On the plus side, the rooms offer 42-inch flat-screen TV's (though some are so awkwardly placed it's hard to view them from the bed) as well as DVD and CD players. On the minus side, no need to ask for a wake-up call in the morning. The alarm clock in one of the neighboring rooms or the loud voices in the hallway - both clearly audible through the thin walls - will definitely do the trick.

Our Experience Was Different...Read On

Of course, every stay is different, however, we have to respectfully disagree with the NY Times on this one, based on our experience back in October of 2004. When we stayed at 70 Park Ave we not only stayed in a fine sized NY hotel room, but also enjoyed at perfectly positioned 42-inch flat-screen TV. Obviously, the 70 Park Ave experience is completely dependent on which room you get, so when you book, ask the tough questions. Ask for the square footage of your room, ask where the television is positioned in the room you are booking, and ask if there is a strong enough wireless signal in the room.

Oh, and we know from experience, if your room has a week signal, the front desk will send up a bridge to improve the signal. Worked for us.
