[Editors Note: Hotel Maven switchcoast livin' large in Denver. Enjoy.]

Woohoo! Finally a hotel that knows what they are doing. I realize by now that you all must think that I am a complainer. O'contraire! Hotel Monaco in Denver believes that they are there to pamper and provide, for people and their pets.

From the moment we rolled up this afternoon everyone has greeted us with a warm smile and a helping hand. Heck, one might think Rylee is flipping the bill. This dog has gotten more attention then Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. If you were to walk into the Denver Monaco tonight you would see a chalkboard in the lobby welcoming Rylee along with five other dogs. They even have a house dog, a Jack Russell named Lily, who roams the lobby. Every room comes with a stuffed Lily in the mini bar. Lilly tried to make friends with Rylee when we arrived, but Rylee can be a bit shy, and apparently Lilly has had a long week. If you would like to meet Lilly, she works 9-5 M-F. Also, when I took Rylee out for a walk, upon my return, Angela, the desk clerk, came out and played with Rylee for 10 minutes in the lobby.

Hotel Monaco Review Continues Post Jump

Oh right, the hotel. The room is magnificent. It is huge with plenty of natural light and free wireless internet. The decor is comforting, yet refined. The beds are so comfortable and dressed with the highest quality sheets and blankets. There is even a mink blanket on each bed that Rylee has claimed for her own. I am afraid of the pillows on the bed, because they may put me to sleep until well past noon tomorrow.

Furthermore, if you are into a bit of pampering, the hotel offers a variety of bubble baths drawn by your own personal Valet. There is also a full service Aveda salon downstairs. The gym is nice, clean, and sufficient. If you have never stayed at a Kimpton property, every night from 5-6, they serve wine in the lobby. This is a great way to meet other guests and the staff. We had a nice conversation with the concierge about Kimpton hotels and our roadtrip.

The hotel Restaurant, Panzano's, serves scrumptious Northern Italian cuisine. We had a delicious dinner with fantastic service.

The location of this hotel is a plus too. It is located between the Pepsi Center and Coors Field with plenty of shopping in between. It is also just a few blocks from Union Station.

I could go on and on about this hotel. I think I would come back to Denver just to stay here.

Time to play in Denver.
