Etu Moana Aitutaki Part II
[Editor's Note: Hotel Maven shully seconds nicco888's earlier review.]
Just returned from my fourth trip to Aitutaki and found Etu Moana, a fabulous new property on the west side of Aitutaki, Cook Islands. The previous reviewer did an excellent job of describing the owners at Etu Moana.
The bungalows are simply gorgeous--granite countertops, indoor and outdoor garden showers, king beds raised so you can see the ocean sunset every night! The verandas are large, with a day bed for naps. And guess what? Their rates have been drastically reduced as they have just opened! They even have purified water! You'll need to get a car/scooter though, as they are only close to one small organic cafe.
Furthermore, the island cyclones have redistributed the sand around the lagoon. Thus, the beach is now spit spot clean, and the water is deeper then ever on the west side.
One more hint: the best swimming beach is at the Samade Beach, a very affordable new property in the three star range that houses a bar and restaurant. You can pop over for lunch and a dip.
