Fruit flies in the food storage area, an expired Canada Dry, stinky pretzels, and GM's snatching old granola bars out of your hand--does this sound like what a visit to the "5 Diamond" Hermitage should be like? Ugh, is it just us or are these "diamond-star" ratings so vague.

Well these are some of the experiences that blogger Nathan Tabor recently endured, or uncovered, at the Hermitage in Nashville.

Long ago, tomes of Hermitage praise were flowing in to HotelChatter headquarters, however, all the stories sounded a little too perfect. We sat on the stories, as they reeked of puff. However, when White Stripes front man Jack White showed up at the Hermitage, we went ahead and published the stories. Yes, we tend to think Mr. White has impeccable taste. We went on to ask our Hotel Mavens to call out theses effusive authors if they disagreed with their takes.

At this point, we think it is important to add Nathan's recent Hermitage story to the mix. You guys can weigh Nathan's experiences against the other Hermitage stories floating around.
