W Hotels Launches First In-Room Sirius Satellite Radio

First Howard Stern, now W Hotels, Sirius satellite radio is on a roll.

Suites at the W Los Angeles-Westwood and W New York Times Square are now hooked up with Sirius satellite radio staring this month. As far as we know, these two W hotels are the first-ever hotel rooms including Sirius radios.

What a cool idea, we have to think that other hotels will line up quickly to adopt this room perk. Think about it, you are from out of town, and have no idea what radio stations to listen to, and usually have to deal with a static filled in-room clock radio, a satellite radio can solve your problems. It also is a great way for Sirius to demo their service to potential customers. One caveat, the Sirius technology better be ready for prime time, as nothing would turn off a prospective buyer more than a visit to an LA Sirius suite where the radio kept cutting out.

Hopefully we will soon be hearing about W, or another hotel, equipping an entire hotel with Sirius satellite radio. Can't wait for this satellite radio perk to trickle down to the hotel common folk staying in the standard rooms (that would be us).
