Willy Wonka would be so proud.  Appear pastry chef Jean-Philippe Maury and his team have created the worlds largest chocolate fountain at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Three rivers of dark, two of milk and one of white twist and swirl from vessel to vessel, flood across then spill down to the next carefully positioned receptacle.

Standing at 27-feet tall, the masterpiece circulates more than 2,100 pounds of melted dark, milk and white chocolate at a rate of 120 quarts per minute.

The floor-to-ceiling chocolate fountain is enclosed in heavy protective glass.

How long before an episode of The Simpson's shows Homer breaking the glass, getting under the fountain mouth a gaping and mumbling, "Mmm...chocolate".

We give it six months.

No photos yet, when we get 'em we'll share 'em.

Neil Robertson is a baker at Bellagio that has been on www.e-gullet.com discussing the opening of the bakery.  He has fascinating pictures of the bakery offerings, as well as the chocolate fountain.  You do have to read through a lot of interesting discussions. http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?showtopic=59798&st=0 The actual picture of the fountain does not appear until page 3 of the discussion.

A chocolate fountain that big! I'm in love.
I would love to see a picture of it. I've got several Sephra chocolate fountains which we use. There's a picture of ours on http://www.chocolate-fondue-fountain.co.uk .
Cleaning that monster must be a nightmare.
OK must go there are guests arriving. Sue x
