Oscars: The Awards Suites are Here

The Academy Awards and the LA hotel scene are as inseparable as Hunter S. Thompson and a shot of Wild Turkey, especially when you consider that the first ever awards ceremony was held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 1929.
Now the Oscars are being held at the Kodak Theater just a few blocks from the Roosevelt and every celebrity with a dress to show off, along with their sycophantic paparazzi, will descend on Tinseltown to wreak havoc on Los Angeles streets. Hmm, can you tell we will be on the outside looking in?
See which hotels are setting up Award Suites...
But Oscar Sunday is a great time for area hotels. Aside from the out-of-towners who flock to the city, celebrity suites are set up at some of the most luxurious spots in town. These suites, also called Awards Suites, are located at various hotels and offer Oscar nominees, presenters, A-list celebrities, stylists and producers gift bags filled with items such as spa and lifestyle products, jewelry, travel and luxe bags, fashions and other fashionable trendy products for today's celebrity.
You know, the kind of just the kind of goody-bags that Gwenyth demanded (see item 5), after phoning it in at recent London Fashion Show.
And these suites are open for five days before the actual Oscars events. Hotels such as the Four Seasons, the Peninsula Beverly Hills and the Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive, are participants and will surely be written about in the celebrity gossip rags--um, and definitely here as well.
So what is in these coveted gift bags? The usual Hollywood shwag. You know, botox, lipo, and laser treatment certificates, jewelry, free trips, resort stays, etc, etc. Wonder if any hotel will be silly enough to give away a Sidekick--time will tell.
Oh, and these suites are a perfect opportunity for designers and jewelers to kiss up as well. Big name fashion houses and jewelers will also be renting out hotel suites to showcase their wares so stars can do their shopping for Oscar night in an extremely private and comfortable way.
