New York's Algonquin Hotel promotes Wi-Fi etiquette [TravelWeekly.com]
"We want to be responsive to the needs of today's writers, but at the same time do no want the use of modern technologies like Wi-Fi and cell phones to disturb other guests in their enjoyment of our historic lobby," said Anthony Melchiorri, general manager of the hotel, which recently completed a $4 million renovation.
As a travel writer, I'm thrilled that they have WiFi. I don't think that asking computer users to have their volume muted, cell phones on vibrate, and avoiding websites that onlookers might be sensitive to is asking too much. That's not severe. it's just making note of good manners.
