Like most boutique hotels in NYC, 60 Thompson is a tale of two rooms.

Standard Room

A cramped, carpeted room containing a king bed, no real desk, and minimal decor-- however, an orchid in a vase does greet you as you enter your small room. Sounds like run of the mill NYC boutique fare, right? These rooms will run you somewhere around $250, depending on the night and the rate you snag.

Hard wood floors, separate sleeping quarters, cookies upon arival, two televisions, including a flat screen LCD, and two bathrooms. You should be able to get this room for $400 a night.

Those are the two room types we saw, if there is another type of room, let us know. For the most part folks we talked to with the Suite (King) type rooms seemed really happy, while folks with the Standard Rooms where giving the place mixed reviews.

One point you can't argue about 60 Thompson is its location. Primo. In the middle of SoHo on a semi-quiet street, right next to everything. If you want to stay in SoHo your hotel choices are going to be limited, so you should add 60 Thompson to the hotels you consider.
