Santorini Hotel Search Part I

December 5, 2005 at 2:22 PM | by markj | 0 Comments

A reader asked us what we knew about two hotels in Satorini: Katikies and Kirini. So we took a look.

Most hotels on Santorini are whitewashed cliff houses overlooking the volcano and the sea--so it is kinda hard to go wrong.

The Katikies Hotel is a seaside boutique with 21 rooms, all peppered with antique furnishings, and some with their own private balconies.

The hotel is not within walking distance to Thira, Santorini's major town, however, the village of Oia is just a quick walk away, and there are plenty of jewelry shops and local restaurants there for you to breeze in and out of. Oh, and we heard that sunsets watchers in Oia sometimes break into spontaneous applause once the sun goes down.

In any event, Katikies Hotel no doubt caters more toward the honeymooner, or couple-in-love, than to a family of four.

More Post Break...

The one guest comment we have on this hotel thus far comes is as follows:

The view is incredible, the room, huge.  2 Bed 2 Bath full kitchen. Be prepared to climb stairs, as this entire hotel is cliffside. We had our own patio/terrace for tanning, and there was never anyone at the smaller pool so it felt like our own personal pool.

Note that most hotels in Greece quote prices per room, not per person.

As always, add your thoughts in the comments section below.
