[Ed. Note: Nothing says the holidays like bed bugs.  Our email box was filled with bed bug reports this holiday season--here is one of 'em.]

My husband and I stayed overnight at the Park Central Hotel in NY 3 weeks ago  and brought BEDBUGS home with us. The infestation has already cost us several thousand dollars both in pesticide treatments and new mattresses, box springs, suitcases, etc. I am currently sleeping in a mosquito tent on top of my mattress.

Here is the most interesting part: On November 27th, the NY Times ran a story on bedbugs in NY hotels. I called the Park Central immediately and asked if they had had any complaints. They said they had not. We checked in on December 1st and out on December 2nd, and within a week they were all over my house. I called the hotel and lodged a formal complaint. After speaking with 2 different hotel representatives, I was refunded 50% of the room charge. Subsequently, I had a member of my family call and ask them if they had had any complaints and they claimed they had NOT.
