A Blue Moon Hotel Christmas Miracle

Just yesterday we predicted the "kosher" hotel was not likely to open, but today NewYorkology tells us the LES hotel is "taking reservations by phone and plans to open for guests possibly by the end of this week with room rates starting around $325."

At first we scoffed it off, we have heard this song and dance before and you know what they say about the hotel that cries "open" one to many times. Despite our doubts, we quickly rallied the hotel mavens and asked them to look into this for us.

Here is our latest report:

Just got off the phone with the Blue Moon folks (could hear construction in the background throughout our phone convo), and they claim they are technically "opening this week". When I tried to book a room I was quoted $275 for a "quintessential" room with LCD television and refrigerator. Didn't get an air of confidence about the whole thing, but it is a hotel open, and these things are always nutty. I asked if maybe I could book on the web and was told the hotel website would be live today or tomorrow.

So there you have it. It looks like today might be never. Of course, we encourage you to send in all correspondence with the Blue Moon Hotel--if this is for real, this could end up being an extremely interesting soft opening.

Once we get confirmation that the Blue Moon is really open we will go ahead and change this page.

On another note, it seems hell hasn't frozen over and the Blue Moon may be open--Pomeranc we are seriously getting worried we may have to make good on that bet.
