Chronicle Thinks New St. Regis Has A Hot Body
December 14, 2005 at 10:52 AM | 0 Comments

John King, who earlier this year smacked down one of our favorite San Francisco hotels, has found a hotel he enjoys--at least from the outside. The St. Regis San Francisco is the object of King's affection.
A skyscraper must be measured by how it enhances the life of the city, not just whether it looks good on the skyline. That's why the St. Regis is a genuinely engaging success -- though it isn't the architectural landmark its creators set out to build.
The 260 room hotel is topped by 102 condominiums, and a three-story cultural space along Mission Street that houses the new Museum of the African Diaspora.
King goes on to say:
They also have a street-level urbanity that's rare for projects this size: No matter how exclusive the St. Regis might be -- and with hotel rooms that start at $529 per night the answer is very -- it's a good neighbor.
Isn't the new St. Regis right next to 111 Minna? Wonder how the gallery likes their new neighbors.
No word on what the $529 rooms are like, but as always, we are waiting with bated breath for you to tell us.
