- Argonaut Hotel At Fisherman'S Wharf

Hotel In Question: Argonaut Hotel
"Ahoy, there!" - Kimpton's "funky, nautical-themed" boutique hotel in a renovated 1907 warehouse is "a welcome addition to Fisherman's Wharf" and especially "friendly for families, including pets"; the "luxuriously appointed rooms" sport original brick walls or wooden beams, "comfy beds" and "great views of the Golden Gate Bridge", while the "convivial" "nightly wine reception" and restaurant's chowders are a "treat"; if a few mates find the maritime motif a "little too themey", most salute the "change of pace."
HotelChatter's Take:
Yup. While we know this whole nautical theme is the furthest thing from cool, and Fisherman's wharf is SF's version of a tourist vortex, this place works. If we had a family, and were taking them to SF, or we were visiting SF as a tourist, this is where we would stay. Barca Loungers, free WiFi, kitschy nautical theme, and free booze. They say if you drink enough at the happy hour, you might see Captain Horatio McCallister in the lobby. If you don't take yourself too seriously, you should enjoy this place.
