Where to Stay in Salt Lake City
Should you find yourself in Utah (skiing, Mormon convention, whatever; we don't judge), you'll need a place to stay--one that ideally embraces local culture and alcohol. The New York Times is up to the task, rounding up a few noteworthy hotels for the next time you're in crazy ol' Salt Lake City.
Other noteworthy hotels: the Grand America Hotel, which was recently renovated for the 2002 Winter Olympics and features bedrooms with mountain views and Carrara marble bathrooms (from $219 on weekends, $259 during the week), and the Parrish Place Bed & Breakfast (rooms from $89), a small B&B built in 1890 by famous Mormon (and polygamist) George Cannon, who possibly lived there with two of his three wives.
Well, if it was good enough for them...
