Hotel Discriminates Against Children; Outrage Ensues
Roland Ballner is either a very smart or very foolish man, depending on how you feel about children. You know, how you REALLY feel about kids. Not kids you have or kids you are related to, but kids in general.
Ballner has decided to ban kids from his Hotel Cortisen in Vienna, Austria.
(Random question:isn't Cortisen the stuff you put on your bug bites and rashes?)
Staring in May next year, the hotel will be officially "a child-free zone" with children under 12 not permitted on the premises.
Ballner said that while he likes little children he doesn't like bad parents who let their kids draw with "felt-tipped pens on white leather couches".
Naturally, this has sparked a mini-protest amongst parents and other politicos concerned about the sociological and psychological impact on the kids.
Sepp Schellhorn, the President of Austrian Association of Hoteliers added:
"Basically I have a social- political problem with this business. We're getting more and more intolerant and more and more egotistical. After all, no human being arrives in the world grown-up."
However, dogs can still stay at the Cortisen, no problemo!
