The NY Post points out a couple recent big time bad experiences at some big name hotelier hotels down on South Beach.
Andre Balazs:
Andre Balazs-Thurman must be glowing from the fancy write-up on his new Standard Miami hotel in this month's Travel + Leisure, but a spy suggests that Mr. B ought to finish the job he started at The Raleigh in South Beach before trying his hand at something new. On a recent visit when the hot water failed to materialize, a call to the front desk led nowhere. In fact, the only explanation the clerk could give was, "We're a boutique hotel."
Jason Pomeranc:
Another trustworthy spy called to inform us that, in her opinion, the nearby Sagamore is, in her words, the "worst hotel - ever".
One of our spy's friends was stricken with food poisoning (it's unknown as to where and how she'd gotten it), but trying to arrange a late checkout on the day of departure so that she might have more time to recover was, said our spy, "like negotiating a peace treaty. It was a Sunday in hurricane season. Why was it so difficult?".
Ok, is it OJ? Is OJ your "trustworthy spy"?
Pomeranc, Balazs, too busy to get the service right you say? We are shocked.
One more thing Posties--what we really want to know is who wrote that most excellent story? The headline suggests someone very much in the know.
