Sort Of Free Crackberry When You Buy Travel Through Orbitz

So we get an email from Orbitz yesterday about some sort of give-away, and we almost dismissed it out-of-hand. The headline? "Free Blackberry When You Book". We figured it was spam, along the same lines of all those emails promising free iPods, instant mortgage approval, and an extra six inches...you get those too, right? It isn't just us is it? Anyway, we took a closer look at this Orbitz offer and it appears legit.  A Blackberry 6710 is yours when you book through the Orbitz offer below, now through May 15, 2005, or when they run out of Blackberries.

Of course you have to pay $29.99 for a one-year service plan, pony up a $35 activation fee, and pay the $9.99 shipping and handling fee, so it isn't really free, but hey, what is these days. Furthermore, there is an $85 mail-in rebate to help offset costs.

If you were in the market for a "crackberry", and need to book some travel, click the link below:

Price check at Amazon. Not bad.
