Hot dates, great rates, is the name of the promotion Kimpton property Hotel Monaco is running down in the Crescent City.  Feb 11-14 show up as available for $134 a night on the hotels website.

We would go ahead and call the hotel direct (Toll Free 866-685-8359), as we couldn't get this rate to come up through the hotels online reservation system.  

Our suggestion?  Combine the Hot Dates rate with the Romance package options, and you will have a Valentine's Day concoction fit for a super couple.  The package would include:

•  Deluxe accommodations for two
•  Bottle of champagne and truffles upon arrival
• $25 gift certificate to Victoria's Secret
• Breakfast in bed ($25 value)

Of course, you will have to wheel and deal with the concierge to get these add ons to your hot rate, but hey, we believe.

Oh, and there is a final add on we suggest.  Hotel Monaco will deliver to your room a complimentary goldfish upon request.  You don't have to feed, or clean up after the fish, the Monaco staff will do that.  Your significant other might appreciate your goldfish touch, as long as you don't turn into frat boy on vodka and start swallowing the fish whole after a couple drinks.
