Eat Drink And Be Merry For Tomorrow You Shall Check Out

Is there anything good about a place where a bronze statue of Sonny Bono stands in city plaza? Travel & Leisure writer David Keeps says yes, after profiling Palm Springs, and more specifically Le Parker Meridien .
Le Parker Meridien was designed by New York designer Jonathan Adler, whose claim to fame is chic ceramic home decor, and depending on your taste, he either hit a home run, or struck out at Le Parker Meridien.
Those who love vintage design, and appreciate toned down luxury should feel right at home at Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs, however if you dislike retro stark, this place may look, to you, like it was furnished at a yard sale.
Adler's original goal was "to unite happiness and chic." Has he done that? You tell us. What we do know is there is a major hotel renaissance going on out in Palm Springs, and we are going to pay more attention to the scene out there from now on.
*Bit of history: We don't necessarily dislike Sonny Bono, however, when Sonny Bono became mayor (1989-93) he promised to halt the Palm Springs party scene by cracking down on those who dared to wear a thong in public. We just can't support that sort of legislation.
