Condé Nast Traveler "Room With A View" caught our attention this month. The El Venado Suite at Hotelito Desconocido (does saying that name make anyone else want to belt out 'Who's That Girl'?) definitely comes with an incredible view. The "Little Unkown Hotel" sits on stilts above a lagoon 60 miles south of Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco, Mexico.

Hotelito uses only solar energy, and at night hundreds of candles light the rooms and restaurant.  This looks like the perfect place to go and write the next great american novel...with paper and pen.  No cell phones, no Internet, no televisions.  Just turtle hatcheries, protected wetlands, and Mexican beaches.  Not everyones cup of tea, but a good dose of peace an quiet can do some good.

Of course, this is 2005, and you will have to pay heavily for roughing it in paradise.  A thatch roofed hut at Hotelito will run you anywhere from $370-$670 a night.

Hotel Quotes After The Jump...

Most reviews shower praise, but we like to pick out those that go against the grain, here are a couple gems from Trip Advisor:

Essentially Manhattan prices in a 'third world' environment. If they chopped about $100 a night off of the room price, I would give the place five stars. Otherwise, it is simply overpriced.

Note: don't go if you will miss TV, your cell phone, fancy meals or if you have marital problems. One couple decked out in cruise wear and diamonds were outta there in less than four hours in a heated argument- the rest of us made fun of them.

Probably not quotes that will ever get ink on the official Hotelito brochure, but funny non the less.

Seriously, this place is looks like an incredible private, sunny get away on the Mexican Riveria.

Oh, and if you find yourself in a "Room With A View" snap a digital photo and send it our way. We would love to rip off emulate Condé Nast Traveler feature here at HotelChatter, and it could be fun to see views from different rooms around the world, make sure to send along the hotel name and room number as well.
