MGM Grand Skylofts: Media Day

Last Friday we talked to a source on the scene during the media unveiling of the brand new MGM Grand Skylofts, out in Vegas. Gorgeous, over the top, more flat panel televisions than you can shake a stick at, that summarizes our conversation with our source, and got us wishing we were on the scene ourselves. The new Skylofts possess 24-foot-high ceilings, are available in one, two and three bedroom suites, ranging up to 6,000 square feet, and to some up the Skylofts attention to luxury--not only will you get a television inside the bathroom mirror--but you will also get a 32" LCD television in every bathtub. What is it with luxury hotels and flat screen televisions? It feels like there is an ongoing competition to see how many LCDs hoteliers can cram into a suite.

Skyloft also offers top of the line personal services, including, airport transfer in a Mercedes Mayback 62, a personal 24-hour-a-day butler, a steam room in every bedroom, and exclusive VIP restaurant + entertainment privileges.

The price? Skyloft will run you $800 - $10,000 a night, we did a price q quick little price check for the first week of March and found ourselves a 1 Bedroom suite for a cool $950 a night. Is that a good deal? Well we figured if we rounded up six people for the suite the price per person would come to around $150 a night. Of course, people would be sleeping on the floor, but hey, from the looks of the floor maps floor space shouldn't be an issue.
