Conrad London, HotelChatter Investigates
A HotelChatter reader asked us to find out what we could about the Conrad Hotel in London.
Here is what we have for you:
This is the kind of place where if you are lucky, you might luck into a Hugh Grant in "Notting Hill" experience, and if you are unlucky an impromptu Kabbalah meeting might break out. You guessed it; the stars tend to flock here when looking for digs in London. Why? Because it is a five star, all suite hotel out in Chelsea away from a lot of the London hub bub.
While the suites may be on the smaller side, guests agree that they are reportedly comfy, people have reported getting a good nights sleep at the Conrad, always a good thing.
So if you are staying out near Chelsea Harbour how do you get back to the city center? We hear the Fulham Broadway tube is the closest tube stop, and is a 10-15 minute walk away from the hotel.
The Conrad is running a couple of "specials" throughout the fall, though with the VAT (17.5%) and the exchange rate, (GBP $157 = $278 USD!!!) That exchange rate is really terrible...come on US Dollar pick up the pace!) your price per night will quickly be over $300. See why we put "special" in quotes.
So what have we learned? The Conrad is a five star joint, a bit off the beaten path in London, where you get a suite, a possible view of Chelsea Harbour, but if you are price conscious you better warm up your mouse and search for deals.
Time to start searching Hotwire.com and
Priceline for a better Conrad London rate.
