Back when Hotel Gansevoort opened we asked y’all to send in reports on the new Meatpacking District property, and you did, muchas gracias. Below is an anonymous report that we received on Gansevoort this past weekend, looks like more of the same.

Live in NYC and getting married - wanted to use Hotel Gansevoort as our base. Already have had nothing but bad service - and we haven't even checked in yet!

You know how some places live off of their "old" reputations? It's possible that Hotel Gansevoort is currently living off of its "promised" reputation, or simply because it is the only option in the now uber-cool area of the Meatpacking District.

After reading a poor review in the Travel section of the NYTimes, I left voice mail for the manager, Elan. Never heard back - after 2 weeks, I left another voicemail. A week later, a woman called me, I explained that I wanted to see the hotel and check out the room options for our wedding in 5/2005. Once there, another person showed us around and we booked a regular room for 2 nights. A week later, we decided to get the Suite. I left a msg with Woman #1. She never called back. 2 weeks later, I left another msg, again saying we wanted to upgrade to a Suite ($675/nite). A few days later Woman #2 called having no clue as to what I wanted, (didn't do her homework), thought I wanted to book a block of rooms, didn't know I had an existing reservation (Is this THAT hard to check before picking up the phone and calling me?). All in all, it's been nothing but a hassle to get ONE room for TWO nights at a very expensive price. Do they only give good service to supermodels??

Already have had nothing but bad service - and we haven't even checked in yet!

We urge this upset customer to check out this story, for a good laugh.
