Downtown Las Vegas' Howard Johnson

Lunched at the Florida Cafe late last week, a Cuban restaurant, which is inside the Howard Johnson on Las Vegas Boulevard.

The neighborhood isn't very savory; the hotel sits among run down businesses and older wedding chapels. The pool area was devoid of people. But as I was walking out and asked the clerk about the hotel, she was very friendly. Oh yeah, and the Cuban food was good too. In addition, rates are only about $49.00.

Howard Johnson has another location in Vegas near the airport, which also has rates at $49.99.

Not sure if this is yo thang, but if you are looking to get in and out of Vegas for under $50.00 a night you might want to check out HoJo's. Ditto if you have a hankering for Cuban food while in town.
