The Imperial Hawaiian Luau poolside at Imperial Palace features a Polynesian revue with an all-you-can-eat island buffet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mmmm roasted pig with an apple in its mouth.

Guests are greeted at the door with a colorful lei Hawaiian flower necklace, and are escorted ushered to their seats to watch the pre-show...wait, did we just say lei and escorted in a story involving Vegas hotels? Let's try that again so you don't get the wrong idea. The show consists of audience participation involving birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions, along with Hawaiian songs and hula dancers. (Think that Expedia commercial where a man envisions his night at Magique)

"Our show is playful, colorful and authentic with a touch of Las Vegas glamour to the costumes," dancer Roxanna Ayakawa says.

The show runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of September. Tickets are $31.95 general admission, $35.95 preferred and $49.95 VIP.  Further details are available by calling 888-777-7664.  Mid-week specials at the hotel are now $44. Yeah that's right, 44 bucks, so don't expect the Venetian when you get inside.

Re: Hawaiian Luau at Imperial Palace

I have to say that the trip I made to the Luau was the worst experience I have done in the last twenty years. It was so unorganized and so boring I had to walk out in the middle of it.

First I had to wait in the hallway for at least 40 minutes and when we got inside we had to wait until the whole place was seated, (which was no fun because it was busy and hot), just to eat. They said on the internet and on the display board in the lobby that it was all you can eat and drink.

First of all it was all you can drink for the vip members, but it did not say that when you bought the tickets. Second they said it was all you can eat, they did not say that was all you can get in one trip.

And the worst thing of all they sent you to the food by tables and by the time we went to get food the show had already started.

I suggest that whoever plans to go to this show save your money for the slots. You might lose it faster but it would probably be more fun.
