Squam Lake Inn: A quasi review

For the first part of this week stories may be light here at HotelChatter.
We are holed up at an undisclosed lake location in the middle of New Hampshire.
Facing five days of no Internet or cell phone access we began to freak out late last Friday afternoon, until we came across the coolest Bed & Breakfast in the lakes region, The Squam Lake Inn.
Squam Lake Inn is a century old Victorian farmhouse right off Squam Lake, where they filmed On Golden Pond, and smack dab in the middle of the lakes region (and Mt. Washington area).
A girl named Ray runs the place and she is incredibly nice and hospitable. Why do we say this? She let us set up shop in the middle of her breakfast room without even having a reservation. This Inn is, as far as we know, the only place in the lakes region with free wireless access. (Yup, that is why we are here).
The farmhouse is extremely well kept, compartmentalized and feels very much like a New England homestead. The breakfast looks delicious, and the whole vibe is definitely European B&B. So if you are in to that sort of thing, check this place out. During the fall this place must be absolutely gorgeous.
Finally, if you are looking for the Amazing Race update, you will have to wait until Thursday, but it will get published this week.
