W announces win in Arizona

See, because of yesterdays story you aren't sure if we mean W the President, or W the Hotels.  This is HotelChatter people, we mean the cool hotel chain, which announced that a 225 room W Scotsdale will open sometime in 2007.

Add that new W to the ones opening in Seoul and Montreal later this year, plus the more than a dozen in the queue, including hotels in Harlem, Florida, Dallas, Barcelona, and the Maldives, and you have what appears to be the fastest growing hotel franchise in the country.

Is it us?  Or does it appear that W and Kimpton are in some sort of boutique hotel arms race.

The W Scottsdale Hotel and Residences also will include 25 to 30 luxury condominiums whose owners will have full access to hotel amenities.

Hmm...very interesting.
