Kansas City Motel Turns Back the Clock, Without Turning Off the Service

[Publisher's Note: Recently, one of our reader's sent us this review in after staying at the White Haven Motor Lodge in Kansas City. Sounds like this place is one of those classic old fashion family style motor lodges. Very retro. Looks like a cool place.]
My son's baseball team recently competed at the USSSA National Tournament in Kansas City. However, we did get a room at the White Haven Motor Lodge located at 8000 Metcalf in Kansas City. If you are my age, (42) you'll think you stepped back in time when you were a child from the 1970's, but don't be fooled, there is nothing 70's about this place. The staff is super, the rooms are clean with central heat and air conditioning, and the suite that we stayed in was wonderful. The staff was up by 6:00 a.m. every morning cleaning the pool so that it could be open by 7:00 a.m.
After the first night my children told me that they were thankful that they had such a quiet room to retreat to after a busy day. (The suite has two separate rooms with two separate televisions).
Access into and out of the motel was rather easy as there are three entrances and exits. If you need to find anything in Kansas City just ask the staff, especially Sheila!!! If you are used to staying in five star motels then spend your hard earned money that way. But for me, and my family, we'll stay at the White Haven when we go back to Kansas City for a Chiefs or Royals game and have money left over for other fun things in Kansas City.
