Hyatt Hotels: Doing Wireless Wrong

June 4, 2004 at 10:16 AM | 0 Comments

Hyatt is teaming up with T-Mobile and will equip 200-plus hotels with WiFi by 2005, according to Information Week.

Of course, teaming up with T-Mobile means charging for access, and access that is not even in your room for that matter. The article goes on to say, "While a number of lower-priced hotel chains are starting to offer free wireless access, T-Mobile charges for access to its system."

Umm, please see previous story posted in this publication.  HotelChatter would change "lower-priced" to hip forward thinking.

Someone needs to track how many customers avoid chains that charge for wireless access by deciding to stay elsewhere, the put that number up against the pennies Hyatt will make while charging its customers for wireless connections.
