Dude, Dubai, You're Getting A Conrad

The Conrad is SO over in Bangkok, thanks to the Metropolitan, but luckily for Hilton's upscale hotel chain, the sandy third-world (if not lower in number) will be smelling what the Conrad is cooking when it comes to reinvigorating Mid-East tourism... not that it needs it, or anything.
Come 2007, Dubai's first, and let's hope not last, Conrad Hotel will open on classy Sheikh Zayed Road. It'll have 350 rooms, 12 meeting rooms, a business center, a ballroom which can hold 1,100 people, restaurants and bars, a nightclub, and a spa/health club with an outdoor swimming pool, according to hospitalitynet.org.
Talk about weapons of mass accomidation.
"We are honoured to work with Private Property Management and to have secured one of the most prestigious and visible locations in Dubai. This will be an extraordinary property and it will fit our plans to expand the Conrad brand further into the Middle East," Jacobus Klein, Board Director of Conrad Hotels, told reporters.
Best yet, it's only 20 minutes from Dubai's fool-proof, terror-foiling airport. Security? Impeccable. Convenience? In spades.
