kimaskew submitted the hotel story below, but we couldn't resist adding in the sub-title, it seemed the perfect juxtaposition to a story we ran earlier this week. Also, after a little digging, it look's like U2 filmed a couple videos atop their hotel. Here are some photos from one of the shoots.]
This is one of the top hotels in Dublin and it's owned by the members of U2. The restaurant is one of the better in the city. Make sure you ask for a room with a view of the river Liffey. Compared to grand hotels in other cities, The Clarence is reasonably priced and comes with all the amenities, including star gazing. Visiting actors and musicians can often be seen in the lobby and common rooms.
On our first visit, at the start of our trip, I had an in-room manicure and pedicure for $20--less than what it would cost to go to a crowded nail salon in San Francisco. On our last two nights in Ireland, my friend and I were coming down with a cold. We had a movie, dinner, and cough medicine delivered straight to our comfy yet stylish room.
