As you pull into the Long Wharf, you'll notice that the New England Aquarium is directly across from the property. Furthermore, Faniuel Hall, The Children's Museum, the "Make Way For Ducklings" attraction, and the Museum of Science are all with in walking distance. Finally, most Boston Harbor Cruise ships leave from Long Wharf, thus you can catch a whale watch or island cruise right outside your door.
When you walk into the Long Wharf you immediately head up an escalator and get dumped off in the main lobby. You can sense that this property does two things really well: conferences and family travel. More than likely you will see both family's and business travelers milling around the lobby. The staff is extremely helpful and should be able to accommodate all your concierge needs. The rooms themselves are extremely ordinary. No surprises here, you are getting a straightforward Marriott room. This hotel is on the older side as well, so don't expect that new car feel in any of the rooms. Many of the rooms are not large, so keep that in mind if you have a larger family and get yourselves a couple of rooms.
In the morning you should be pleasantly surprised by the above par breakfast buffet that the hotel offers, though at $26.00 a pop it is a bit pricey (you can get breakfast covered in some special packages). Finally, there is a Starbucks underneath the escalator, so if you are looking for your quick caffeine fix no need to panic, the Long Wharf has you covered.
In sum, the Long Wharf Marriott possesses one of the best locations for family travelers to jump off into the Boston tourist scene. If you are planning to pack up your family and trot off to Boston, check out the Boston Long Wharf Marriott.
