The Jackaroo Cottage was toplisted in last week's "Follow the Reader" department in the Travel section of the San Francisco Chronicle.

I wanted to pass it on because it reminded me of many sunfilled lazy mornings I spent in Glen Ellen with an ex beau. Taking the "Exterior Tour" I had to look twice to see if this wasn't the back yard of said ex's mum's house.

But my gossip isn't the point. I'm just saying I can vauge for the lovely privacy of Glen Ellen in Sonoma County. You can read all about the hot tub, breakfast nook, and local attractions online, here's scoop straight from Mary Zeeble:

"The property was once the town's old dairy farm. The cottage is named after an Australian shepherd, who serves as a friendly ambassador. Pets are welcome if you arrange in advance.

This is my favorite place to stay in the Wine Country."
