Party with the geeks: NYE celebration in Cambridge

Hotel@MIT is offering a New Year's Eve celebration fit for a geek. Their in house restaurant will serve you a five-course prix fixe menu including: Maine Lobster Stew, Nantucket Scallops (is it scal-ups or scoll-ups?), Halibut & Mussels, and a baked Alaska Beehive with Chestnut Honey Ice Cream for desert. Ok, smarties, we were with you until the behive thing, we give up, what is it? Looks like some sort of cream dessert. At least that is what the culinary academy, who provided the photo to the right, suggested.

In any event, the Hotel@MIT New Year's Eve package includes accommodations from December 31 through Saturday January 1, the five course meal, a New Year's Day brunch, and a check out extension until 4pm, all for $369 per couple. A 4pm checkout should give you plenty of time to sleep off your hangover. Oh yeah, and the hotel provides free in room T1 access, so you can surf around while you wait for your headache to subside.

The hotel is also throwing a party featuring a Live Jazz Quartet, but that will run you a little extra. If you want to have your own in room party, there is a Star Market right next door, and plenty of Central Square pit stops to get any sort of booze that you might need.
