The world premiere of Jennifer Garner's film, "Elektra," will be held Jan. 8 at the Palms.

The 20th Century Fox film is a spinoff of "Daredevil," in which Garner played Elektra Natchios, the girlfriend of Ben Affleck's blind superhero character. Coincidently, that is the same role Jennifer Garner plays in real life, except she wears a Red Sox cap instead of tights. Ahh, the life of a movie star.

Palms owner George Maloof said his hotel got the premiere through the efforts of his brother Phil, who heads Maloof Television.
