Phillippe Starck to design Miami's Ritz Plaza Hotel

Starck vs. Schrager?
Almost a decade has passed since Phillippe Starck designed Miami's Delano hotel, yet after ten years, the Delano still defines boutique hotel design in South Florida, and some may argue, nationwide.
However, Strack is way passed the Delano, and he seems poised to compete with his ten year old creation. Miami's Ritz Plaza, at 17th and Collins Avenue is practically next door to the Delano.
What will Strack concoct this go round?
"It will be completely different. Because it's 20 years later", said the designer, despite the fact that the Delano opened in 1995, not 1985. Whoa, Starck is such a visionary he lives in some sort of alternate space-time continuum or something.
Of course, everyone associated with the Miami Ritz is being oh-so coy about what it will look and feel like. You might say the developers are in stealth mode right now, which usually means no one has any idea what it will actually look like.
No, doubt we will all watch the designer of Target fame extremely closely as this project develops.
