Sure, sure André Balazs and his PR Machine are humming like a well oiled machine as they race towards opening their new Times Square hotel, dubbed Hotel QT.  A NY Times article here, a press mention there, you know the drill. But, it appears that the folks over at QT are taking there name a bit too seriously. HotelChatter is milling around New York this week and contacted the Quiet Train about stopping by; however, the PR folks didn't seem to think that was the best idea. Hmm. What is going on over there? What happened to your motto of "relaxed socialization", that is all we were really after. We thought stealth mode was reserved for overfunded under-thought-out Internet companies? What is going on over there on West 45th St.? We will do our best to figure it out, and report back to all you hotel mavens, of course.

Until then, we will tell you that Balazs and his crew seem to talk mostly about creating a "social atmosphere".  This social atmosphere, apparently, is all about baths.Turkish baths, Swedish saunas, Japanese bubble baths, Russian shvitz, you get the idea. Actually, what is a Russian shvits? That sounds a tad gross. Anyway, according to the Times piece, one giant cleansing will go on at the QT once the doors open.

Ok, ok, enough. Here are the quick specs: Rooms from $95, 22 foot swimming pool in the lobby, bunk beds with their own flat screen televisions, and anyone under 25 gets 25% off, kinda like a Eurail pass.

Can't find an opening date, but will let you know when we get one. We will keep a close eye on this property for sure.
