Holiday Inn's New "Shower Experience" is "Right On"

Hotel News Resource reports that Holiday Inn is giving its U.S. hotel rooms a $20+ makeover in response to customer demand for a more satisfying and, frankly, functional showering experience.

Dubbed "the SimplySmart shower program," all Holiday Inns will soon be equipped with a new multifunction Kohler showerhead; a curved shower curtain rod to enlarge showering space; a spiffier shower curtain, bigger, softer, thicker towels and a nicer bathmat; and a new line of amenities, featuring a proprietary fragrance and a display unit. Also the bottles will be squeezable. And amenities aren't amenities if they're not in squeezable bottles.

When can we expect these changes? The showerheads and curtains should already be installed, and the other elements should be implemented by first quarter 2005. Is "the SimplySmart shower experience... right on," as Mike Hoffman of the Holiday Inn Express brand committee attests?

If anyone hits a Holiday Inn, let us know what you think of the new showerhead -- apparently, it's so good (so the story goes), Hoffman installed one in his home shower. Nice perk.
